Tiqets announced the winners of the seventh edition of its Remarkable Venue Awards 2023. The Dutch ‘Tulip Experience Amsterdam’ was crowned the best in the world in the ‘hidden gem’ category.
Honoring Remarkable Venues
The Remarkable Venue Awards shine a spotlight on the most beautiful and unique museums, attractions, and activities in France, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, the UAE, the UK, and the US.
This year, a total of 229 nominees competed in seven categories: Most Remarkable Venue, Best Museum, Best Landmark, Best Family Experience, Best Activity, Most Innovative Venue, and Best Hidden Gem. Tulip Experience Amsterdam is the first global winner from the Netherlands.
A passionate family business
Tulip Experience Amsterdam is an essential part of any visit to the Bulb Region. The Pennings family has been passionately cultivating tulip bulbs for 70 years, and they are eager to share their knowledge with their visitors. With a unique combination of a museum, show garden, and an indoor picking area, they aim to let their visitors experience the magic of tulips.
Exploring Tulip diversity
In the museum, visitors learn about the history and cultivation process of tulips, in the outdoor show garden, they immerse themselves in a blooming sea of tulips (with 1 million tulips in 700 varieties!), and afterward, visitors can pick a bouquet of tulips in the indoor picking area.
More than just tulips
Tulip Experience Amsterdam also features multiple art exhibitions, a cinema, a coffee corner offering Dutch treats (with a view of their show garden), a local market selling tulip souvenirs and products, and much more.
Expressions of gratitude
Sylvia Pennings, General Manager of Tulip Experience, said, “We are extraordinarily honored to receive ‘The Best Hidden Gem Global Award’ here in Seville today. It’s a testament to our hard work. As a family business, we see this as not only our victory but also a tribute to the beautiful Bulb Region.
We are immensely grateful to Tiqets and everyone who voted for us for allowing us to showcase what the Netherlands and the Bulb Region have to offer in this way!”
