The Rembrandt House Museum is the only place in the world where you can experience how the famous painter Rembrandt van Rijn once lived and worked. Located on Jodenbreestraat in Amsterdam, this museum offers a unique opportunity to get closer to the master and discover his world.
On March 18, 2023, the Rembrandt House reopened with a 30% expansion of new spaces. This renovation introduced five new museum rooms, including an epilogue room, an etching attic, and a third exhibition hall. Thanks to a new multimedia tour, the seventeenth century comes to life as you follow Rembrandt’s life story from his days of glory to his eventual financial downfall.
Daily Demonstrations and Educational Workshops
Every day, the museum offers etching and painting demonstrations, where you can see how Rembrandt made his paint and developed his etching techniques. In the new etching attic, you get a glimpse into the etching process, as if you were looking over the artist’s shoulder.
